Zoa Chimerum - Arcanum Fifteen - HEADGEAR IX (2021)
This is a one of a kind piece of wearable art made for the Five and Diamond Ninth Annual Headgear Art Show and shown on June 18, 2021.
Initial inspiration for the piece started with the Marseilles Tarot XV, which touches on themes of bondage, androgyny, the permeability of the boundary between human/animal or instinct/thought, and the “shadow” side of psychology emerging into the light.
forged aluminum, tempered spring steel, rubber tubing
The piece is worn with the V headband at the front and sits basically like a hat, no need for bending or flexing - the lower curves tuck behind and under the ears for added stability. The two top and bottom halves move like a hinge at the front of the piece to allow for easier fit. The he piece is entirely built on top of aluminum armature wire, and *may* be carefully adjusted to the wearer’s head, although I don’t recommend doing this unless absolutely necessary. If making adjustments, start with the parts which tuck under the ears to ensure they are in contact with the sides of the face and bend lightly to ensure contact. This is the easiest and least disruptive way to improve stability.
All headgear sales are final. Due to the unique nature of these works of art, coupon codes will not be accepted.
