There is a lot of symbolism around white butterflies. If the first butterfly you see in the year is white you will have good luck all year. White butterflies are symbols of spiritual change. In the Philippines, seeing a white butterfly means that there is a message coming. In Ireland, they were thought to carry the souls of dead children. To the Blackfoot, they carried dreams. In Chinese symbology, a white butterfly symbolizes the soul of a departed love one. A White butterfly also means angels are watching over you and that you are being protected.
