This is a one of a kind piece of wearable art made for the Five and Diamond Eleventh Annual Headgear Art Show and shown on June 16, 2023 in San Francisco.

DESCRIPTION:

A spiraling headdress loosely inspired by the horns of an Ox. A manifestation of the ancient Egyptian goddess of joy, Hathor, who has been depicted as a human figure with the head of a bovine, carrying the disc of the sun between her horns. This head dress has phosphorescent tips to its horns, and when worn during the day will absorb and store the light of the sun, which will then at night glow with this stored energy.

MATERIALS USED:

Hand cut rubber, forged aluminum, phosphorescent plastic

WEARING INSTRUCTIONS:

Wear it like a hat. Horns pointed forward or backwards are viable configurations. The fit can be adjusted by gently bending the peak of the center arch to a more or less acute angle. When it is set right fir the wearer, there will be a slight tension in the structure causing it to grip the head.
